Choosing the Right Batching Plant for Your Operation

Read

Choosing the right batching plant is critical to achieving your operational and project requirements.

Dry batching plants are ideal for fast setup and lower upfront costs. Wet batching plants are gaining popularity in Australia and can deliver higher concrete consistency, improved slump control, faster turnaround times on site, and improved environmental benefits with central mixing.

At PrimeBatch, we provide end-to-end solutions backed by SIMEM’s world-class technology to ensure you have the right plant for your operation – whether in ready mix, precast, or underground operations 👌

As the authorised SIMEM distributor in Australia and PNG, and supported by FMS Group, our mission is to maximise your project outcomes with equipment and service you can trust.

PrimeBatch at FCON25: Insights into the Future of Construction

Read

PrimeBatch attended FCON25 and gained valuable insights into the future of Australia’s construction sector. The event highlighted both the scale of upcoming opportunities and the challenges the industry must overcome to deliver them.

Key Takeaways for Queensland

  • $105 billion construction pipeline over the next 5 years – up $12 billion from 2023, with around 20% of the increase attributed to rising costs.

  • Mega projects (>$1 billion) continue to expand.

  • Growth is being driven by new hospitals, transportation upgrades, the energy transition, new housing, and preparations for the 2032 Olympic Games.

Opportunities and Challenges

While the outlook is strong, the sector faces critical hurdles:

  • Labour shortages – more than 10,000 new construction workers will be required.

  • Productivity concerns – output remains around 3 productive days per week, compared to 5+ days pre-COVID.

The productivity issue is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Increased compliance requirements, improving safety but adding time.

  • Retention of industry knowledge and expertise as experienced workers retire.

  • Slower adoption of digital tools and AI compared to other industries.

Looking Ahead

Despite these challenges, FCON25 created a valuable forum for networking, knowledge sharing, and solution-focused discussions.

At PrimeBatch, we are proud to be part of the conversation, delivering next-generation concrete solutions across the ready-mix, precast, and underground sectors. Together with our partners, Simem Group and FMS Group, we are committed to supporting the future of construction in Australia.
